04/29 Brush Fire

Colchester & Gardner Lake units responded to Buckley Rd for a sparking power line. First arriving units found something much larger than a 'sparking power line.' How about a large, active brush fire! Once CL&P cut power to the area - crews we're able to extinguish the out of control blaze.

04/26 Traumatic Tree Incident

CHFD responded to Route 2 IAO Exit 20 for a tree cutting accident. CT DOT was operating as a tree cutting crew when a tree fell & rendered one of it's members unconscious. (Lifestar was requested, but remained unavailable) PT was transported by ambulance to Hartford Hospital.

04/14 MVA w/ Fire & Lifestar

Colchester responded to the area of 214 Lake Hayward Rd for reports of a MVA w/ fire - still occupied (around 0300hrs). First arriving units found a fully involved car fire w/ 1 occupant out of the vehicle, unconscious w/ burns. The first due Engine went to work quickly extinguishing the car fire. Lifestar transported (Unknown PT Status). Later reports, showed bystanders pulling the burning victim to safety. Kudos & Excellent Job!

04/08 Hebron W/F

CHFD responded mutual aid to Hebron for a well involved house fire. Upon arrival, Engine1 laid their LDH & quickly went to work, assisting Hebron's crews in fire suppression & primary searches. Primaries ended up negative & the fire was placed under control almost 1.5 hrs later.

04/07 Lebanon Pin & Rollover

CHFD responded mutual aid to Lebanon for reports of a 2 car MVA w/ entrapment. Lebanon's Chief (Car6) arrived to find the first vehicle over turned and on fire (pt self extricated) & the second vehicle on its wheels w/ heavy damage & 1 pt entrapped. Rescue1 quickly went to work on the Subaru taking both drivers side doors and the A & B posts, while Engine1 placed 1 line into operation on the ford p/u truck. 1 pt was transported with non-life threatening injuries & the call was placed under control.
