CHFD's Rescue 1 responded mutual aid to East Hampton for a MVA rollover w/ entrapment & lifestar.

First warm & sunny day of the year? Go ATV training! CHFD took part in some off-road ATV training at the CHFD's training grounds.
As a Suggestion: Before the greens return to the trees & visibility starts to become more difficult during navigation, familiarize yourself with potential hazard areas in your area (ex. common or challenging brush fire areas, lost or injured hikers, etc.)

03/05 Chimney Fire
Another stubborn chimney fire! CHFD crews worked diligently attempting to locate the heavy fire which was contained, in what seemed to be a hidden vault, within the chimney/fireplace. Over the next to 2 hours, companies utilized chains, hand tools, & extinguishers to control the tough fire.

02/08 A Successful Delivery!
CHFD members: Deb Marvin, Royce Knowles, & Rick Berkamn as well as Backus Hospital's Dr. Kyle McClaine assisted with the delivery of a healthy baby girl in the parking lot of Backus Hospital during blizzard Nemo. Goodjob guys & congratulations mom & dad!
02/08 East Hampton Structure Fire
Colchester's FAST team responded to East Hampton for a residential house fire. First arriving units were met with heavy fire conditions in the attic & mutual aid was delayed due to adverse weather conditions (>2ft of snow.) Three Firefighters were transported (one of which was a Mayday) with non-life threatening injuries. An event that reminds us how important FAST/RIT teams really are. Nice job East Hampton on the good k/d - I hope you guys were able to make it home safely during these blizzard conditions!
